I don’t even know what I’m supposed to think about the latest from South Park. On the one hand, I love the fact that they use the show as a platform for social commentary. On the other hand, I really didn’t understand what the fuck they were talking about for most of this episode. Asians deciding who is gay and who is not? Is this a thing? Or Craig and Tweek being told they are gay so they just go along with it so they can be “cool”. It was all just a little too weird for me but like every episode of South Park, it still had some funny moments.
This was simply one of those episodes that you either really liked or really disliked and I think I fall into the latter category. Maybe I’ve been living under a rock or something but does this kind of thing actually happen? I grew up in the ’90s where it was totally not cool to be gay so seeing the complete opposite occur was interesting to say the least. I just feel like some of these episodes could and should have been a lot funnier and this was one of them. Don’t get me wrong, I love South Park to death and I’ll never stop watching but really, there wasn’t too much funny going on here.
