Strong start, terrible finish. I had huge expectations for The Walking Dead’s mid-season finale but unfortunately it was more of the same from a series that has no idea how to tell a good story. Look, I know there are a ton of people who will defend this series as if it were Maggie’s first born baby but I’m not one of those people and I can’t, in good conscience, sit here and pretend to like something that absolutely sucked. I’ve just about had it with these writers and their bullshit tricks, dragging things out like us viewers are too stupid to realize what they are doing. Straight up, this was one of the WORST mid-season finale’s this show has ever produced and I am not going to bite my tongue.
The walkers finally made their way into Alexandria and all hell broke loose but everything that happened to our characters was really the result of their own stupidity. Are Carl and Ron the dumbest teenagers in existence? The answer to this is a definite yes which is totally surprising since I thought we left all the dumb teenagers behind when Under the Dome finally came to an end in the summer. Clearly I was wrong. If one testosterone fueled teenage fight wasn’t enough this season then you must have absolutely loved the mid-season finale for round two of this epic UFC bout. In this case though, UFC stands for ‘utterly fucking comical’.
With absolutely no plan in sight, the people of Alexandria had no clue what they were doing and obviously that cliffhanger ending made me want to strangle the snot out of Sam. First off, clean your damn room kid. Second, keep your mouth SHUT when walking through a crowd of brain-eating zombies. Like seriously, if I’m Jessie, I’m smacking this kid directly into the walkers to save everyone else.
So as you can tell, I was not impressed with this finale and I’m thinking I’m not the only one. Please though, if you did actually enjoy this train wreck, I’d love to know why because my brain simply cannot comprehend how anyone could have enjoyed this.
